How to contribute
The Dictionary of the Apatani Language is a
cooperative effort, built upon the
contributions of various collaborators, Apatanis as well as
non-Apatanis. Its aim is to provide an effective research tool dedicated to the study of Apatani language and culture. Instead of
planning a
comprehensive dictionary which would take many more years to be
finished, our goal has been to produce a useful piece of work, a
reliable basis that can be regularly expanded on a collaborative basis. At present the Apatani-English section contains around 10,000
words and phrases, but many more have yet to be recorded. We also
hope that in future each sense of a head word can be illustrated by at
least one example sentence. Only the combined
contributions of many different users will work to enhance the quality
of this dictionary for everyone. For that
we invite our Apatani readers to suggest new entries,
improve the
definition of a particular word, or point to one of its dialectical variants. Comments are welcome and can be forwarded by using the form below, or sent directly to:
